Top Television has suspended its live program, 'The Cocktail' due to public outrage when Joan Lule the lead presenter demeaned the reigning Miss Uganda, Oliver Nakakande who was the guest.

Joan Lule was seen in a video that circulated on Facebook appearing to shout and smear mad at the soft-spoken Miss Uganda Beauty Queen Nakakande for failing to clinch the Miss World Title.

In spite of Nakakande's maintained composure, Lule kept shouting over her and attacking her co-presenters for questioning her approach.

The video that is making rounds on Facebook sparked outrage and criticism of Top TV for recruiting half baked journalists faulting Joan Lule for falling short of journalistic ethical values.

Miss Uganda's proprietor Brenda Nanyonjo expressed disappointment with Joan Lule's conduct and posted a late-night video decrying the unfortunate incident while standing firm and proud of Oliver Nakakande.

Top Tv issued a statement to the public on Wednesday apologizing for the unfortunate scene which they said displayed all levels of unprofessionalism in the media industry.

"We wish to kindly inform you that management is handling this particular issue within our internal mechanisms and in accordance with the company's Human Resource Policy and the Disciplinary code. So far, the presenter has already apologized on the same show that aired on 22/4/2020."Top TV's statement detailed.
