Kampala city socialite, Judith Heard will represent Uganda in the Miss Elite International Beauty Pageant in Egypt on December 10, 2020.
The contest will attract top models, actresses, former Miss World and Miss Universe contestants from all over the world.
Judith heard will be competing with 30 other contestants from Canada, Cyprus, Finland, India, Kenya, Greece and many others.
The edition is classified into Miss Elite 2020, Miss Elite First, Second and Third runner up, Miss elite Congeniality, Miss Elite Top Model, Miss Elite Popular, Miss Elite Fitness and Miss Elite Photogenic.
The categories will allow models between 18 to 35 years of age. It is the first time in history that a pageant above 28 years runway limit will compete with contestants who are still in their 20s.
34-year-old Judith Heard is the first model to defy the age norm at Miss Elite Pageant after being nominated as the only representative from Uganda.
For Judith Heard, it has always been a dream to share her story through modelling, showcasing art and now pageantry, the Miss Elite website notes.
“We grew up through rape and other social injustices in Uganda. This situation inspired me to start an advocacy campaign named DAY ONE to combat rape and sexual assault in Uganda," Judith says.
Day one is inspiring people in Uganda and Africa at large to stand up against rape.
"I have been following the latest news concerning rape and sexual assault in Egypt, it is exemplary how the government and the people of Egypt are pushing to give justice to those victims," Judith said in an interview.
The first of its edition will be held from 3rd till 11th of December 2020 at Somabay and the grand finale in Giza, Cairo-Egypt.
