Kampala City Comedian Kato Lubwama, the Rubaga South Member of Parliament has received a warm welcome from his supporters and constituents upon being discharged from Medipal International Hospital in Kololo. The popular comedian and radio presenter was hospitalized in April after diagnosing him a strange disease.

During the welcome back ceremony at his home in Mutundwe, Kato Lubwama assured his supporters that he is strong enough and he hopes to start from where he had stopped before being hospitalized.

‘‘Thank God am out of the hospital now. The struggle to develop Rubaga south continues.’’ Kato told supporters.

The comedian promised to squeeze National Unity party (NUP) candidates out of Rubaga South constituency. He could not stand the thought of leaving out his longtime rival, Kalifah Aganaga. He said that this broke fellow had started taking advantage of his sickness to deceive his voters.

"Now that I am back. I will chase all People Power candidates in Rubaga South. Kalifah Aganaga, stay warned because you can't take over my constituency. Rubaga people still love me," he warned.

Kato Lubwama’s speech at the ceremony left so many of his supporters wondering. In the interview with a local media channel, he revealed that he can never talk about Mukiibi Sadat aka Khalifah Aganaga because he is too broke and unknown.

According to the comic MP, the Katono hitmaker had used Fresh Daddy to gather some ‘Bizikes’ translated as fifty thousand notes but the scheme failed. He added that such a Ghetto boy was looking for a name which he could earn by associating himself to the ‘Famous Kato Lubwama.’

I will not give the little known Khalifa Aganaga a platform to further his dreams and he will also become famous if I discuss him,” the comical MP told the media.

He also added that so many people have used his fame to become popular. For instance, he slapped Bajjo and from then on, the ‘cheap’ music promotor did not remain the same. He became very known as ‘a man whom Kato Lubwama slapped’’.

“I slapped Bajjo Events and it got him a ‘little’ name. Multitudes in the music industry started calling him for bookings and promote their music on radio and television stations’’. He bragged.

Supporters listening to the Aganaga centred speech of Kato Lubwama concluded that the upcoming singer is a great threat to ‘their man’. It seems the MP was getting nightmares about his political rival even on his hospital bed.

How come the communication to the audience was all centred at Aganaga? This implies that Hon. Kato Lubwama is quaking and operating under fear since the Kiboko singer will soon unseat him from the 'greatest house of eating,' - the Parliament of Uganda.

The cold battle between the former vendor of paraffin lamps (obutadooba) turned MP and the dreadlocked ''Ndabirawa'' hitmaker-Kalifah Aganaga has not started today. It's been traced since 2019 when Aganaga declared his intentions to dislodge the comic MP.

The dread-locked singer unplaited his hair for a new look. He also told the press that Lubwama is a directionless fellow given his slogan ‘Mumpe nange endyeko’ which was translated as ‘Given me, I also eat’.

Kalifah went on to de-campaigned his rival, Kato Lubwama claiming that he has done nothing for Rubaga South. The term is almost done but there are no tangible results, it’s time for him to leave Parliament.

People of Rugaga South are not represented. It is now clear that Mr Kato Lubwama went to eat as he had promised. It’s time for him to leave the Parliament because he has eaten enough.’’ Kalifah Aganaga added.

This angered the Rubaga South incumbent and told Kalifah to try his weed elsewhere other than the Ugandan Parliament.

‘‘Aganaga, don’t bring weed into politics because it will be a waste of time and your little long struggled for money. Politics is different from the music which you perform under drug influence. Try your ‘dear’ talents elsewhere.’’ Angry Kato retorted.

Aware of Kato Lubwama’s gross grammatical errors, Aganaga asked the former Tadooba (Paraffin lamp) seller turned MP to display his academic documents.

As if the request was an insult to Mr Lubwama, he could not publicise his result slips and he concluded Aganaga had started a permanent war which he equated to the 1939-1945 world war, the 2021 general elections.

Confident and fearless, Khalifa Aganaga displayed his excellent UACE grades (AABB, 23 points). A few months later, the ‘Ndabirawa’ singer shocked social media when he confirmed that he had enrolled for a Law course at Kampala International University. These outstanding academic transcripts show he indeed is the eligible candidate come to 2021.

Although the pictures of Lubwama donned in shorts and T-shirts, alongside the high-class NRM legislator, Muhammad Nsereko “eating life abroad” appeared online and were greeted with loud cheers, fans can never forget Kato Lubwama’s problematic media interview before being hospitalized.

In the interview, the comic MP failed to explain his expectations of the Democratic Party.

There was a viral video of this DP- legislator struggling to explain his dream for his party in the English language. Lubwama argued that the “Democratic party should be as the name is sounded.”

Feeling out of place after sensing the grammatical problems with the sentence, Lubwama attempted the second time but it almost came out the same way. The “embarrassing” deficit, forced the Rubaga South legislator to turn to the interviewer for rescue.

''Kati awo ngambewo ntya?” (How should I say this one?) He begged for assistance. The interviewer does not help, and Lubwama still fails to deliver what is clearly an obvious message that was, “the Democratic Party should be true to its name.”

Despite failing to capture this basic argument in proper grammar, Lubwama die-hards still love their man. They claim that he is a true representative of all half-educated Ugandans at a dining table which seems reserved for the most educated fellas.

Other poor Ugandans continue to look at him as a poor man’s dream. As a skit comic and former vendor of paraffin lamps – obutadooba, Lubwama connects with many Ugandans, who are struggling with life.

To many, Lubwama’s honest and genuine personality qualifies him for a second term in the legislature, the Uganda parliament.

As social media trolls continue to make fun of Kato Lubwama’s English deficiencies, die-hards have crashed them saying that Kato is not the first to make such errors. Therefore, this not news as they think because so many legislators use ''DT'', which is translated as Direct Translation from the mother tongue.

For example, the other direct-speaking fellow is the smooth Pastor Peter Sematimba, who back in the late 1990s promised his listeners that he would look for money on end. He had added that if money were in starting a church or joining politics, he would do it. He did both.

In spite of fans loving Lubwama for his commonplaceness, and unpretentious ignorance, they have advised him to go for further studies if he is to continue eating at the dining table of corporates.

‘‘We want you to continue eating but the English might make Kalifah dislodge you. The eating requires no much learning.’’ Fans the comic Member of Parliament.
