Renowned TV personality, Sheilah Gashumba is sweating plasma and ponders returning to school after failing to pitch potential sponsors for her show dubbed Gash and Godz Plan Lounge.
Close friends say she is thinking of returning to school following their untimely breakup with her robotic boyfriend, God's Plan.
Her show's first preview garnered over 800k views but since then all the fans have disappeared.
In May, Sheila quit NTV over peanut payments. She posted that she was receiving only 100K for every show. Yet, the sponsors of the show were paying NTV management over 25m Uganda Shillings.
She threw in the towel and started planning for an independent online show. She argued that the NTV show peanut payment was not worth her effort and time.
According to her, TV stations in Uganda are only exploiters, they don’t value human resource.
Sheila postulates that it is better to sell samosas or drive Uber Boda rather than being falsely branded by the entire world as a rich celebrity.
‘‘I would rather start up a samosa business and earn enough instead of fronting my figure on the television, be known by the whole world yet am earning an amount that can’t even facilitate my monthly make-up.’’ Sheila asserted.
Sheila hit hard at NTV hard when she told them off that she is no longer a kid as some of the managers assumed.
" I used to earn 50,000 shillings per show back then on WBS TV. I was fine with it since I was a child," Sheila noted.
However, life has changed, she is now an adult; has bills to pay, and no longer under her father’s roof. In fact, her value had greatly improved too. How come the payment was just doubled?
‘‘I was fine with the 50k then. But when I grew older, I realized it wasn’t about what one loved but their value and how much you are paid for a job. I have personal bills to pay off, am no longer a kid.’’ Gashumba posted on her Twitter.
She then advised youths to do better things that generate income instead of being TV hosts.
"Do not be fooled, there’s no money in media. Becoming rich in Uganda through TV is a myth." She posted
Fans believe it was God's plan giving her false confidence. There is a lot of great talent clamouring for Sheila's TV job out there in suburban Kampala.
A social media troll in a fake NTV Uganda twitter post questioned her education credentials.
Social media was awash with the 'Ka50k' posts and multiple shares of the fake NTV Uganda Twitter post saying Sheila is an SDO (School Drop Out).
Sheilah Gashumba has always gone slow on the matters of education. She brags as a Forbes material, a billion-dollar worth in brand equity.
After running up and down during the lockdown and failing to land any sponsors for her online tv show, Sheila is finally back home to her loving dad, Frank Gashumba.
In fact, the Lil stunner was gifted a BMW the moment she stepped home. The posh ride is a thank you note from her dad for leaving Marcus and an encouragement to further her education.
