The Electoral Commission has issued an update indicating that 58 aspirants have picked nomination documents for president of Uganda 2021.
Among the aspirants are five female candidates namely; Lugudde-Katwe Elizabeth, Nancy Kalembe, Maureen Kyalya, Phiona Mirembe and Katushemererwe Brenda.
Four party-sponsored candidates are also vying for the presidency, they include; Bbaale Charles of the Ecological Party of Uganda (EPU), Kyagulanyi Robert of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Gregory Mugisha Muntu of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
The aspirants received supporter forms, which they will use to collect signatures of not less than 100 registered voters in each of at least two-thirds of all the districts of Uganda. A mandatory prerequisite for nomination according to the Uganda constitution.

· Gregory Mugisha Muntu – Alliance for National Transformation (ANT)
Mugisha Muntu is a Ugandan politician and retired military officer. He is the National Coordinator of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT). A political party he founded in March 2019.
He has served as the President of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), an opposition political party, from 2012 to 2017.
Muntu served as the Army Commander, the highest position in the Ugandan military, from 1989 to 1998.
When the National Resistance Army was renamed the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), General Muntu became Commander of the UPDF.

Also known by his stage name Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, activist, singer, actor, businessman and philanthropist.
As of 11 July 2017, he serves as the member of parliament representing Kyadondo East constituency in Wakiso District, in Uganda's Central Region.
Bobi Wine's unconventional People Power movement has pushed him to the apex of Uganda's political arena.
Surprisingly, Bobi has run the People Power movement successfully for close two years without systems, processes or a single structure in the country save for their new NUP office in Kamwokya.
He is believed to have bought off the National Unity Platform-NUP in a smart move to challenge the long-serving Uganda president, Yoweri Museveni.
Now that leading opposition figure, Kizza Besigye is out of the race, Bobi wine is seen as President Museveni's main challenger.
He is all out vying to unseat long-serving benevolent dictator, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the forthcoming Uganda Presidential Elections.

The 39-old-year says she is fronting transforming agriculture, health and education as key aspects of her manifesto.

Charles Rwomushana is a popular political commentator on Uganda's media landscape. Some call him a controversial political analyst for his contentious remarks on political issues in the country.

He also headed Economics, Research and Political Intelligence Desk at Internal Security Organisation (ISO).

Phiona Mirembe is a 32-year-old lawyer and the founder of the law firm Mirembe and Company advocates.
In 2019, Mirembe expressed her intentions to stand for president in Uganda elections scheduled for 2021.
She describes herself as a woman of very strong convictions.
"Our leaders have a problem with morality, the entire society. If I can be at the top and inspire character, integrity and prosperity, I will sleep a happy person,” she says.

Christopher Aine is the former bodyguard of ex-premier, Amama Mbabazi. On August 18, 2020, Aine picked presidential nominations forms at the Electoral Commission offices on Jinja road.
On December 17 2015, at the height of the presidential campaigns, Christopher Aine mysteriously disappeared from Amama Mbabazi's camp.
He reappeared months later on a rivals side, at a Gen. Salim Saleh's home.
It is believed that Aine was tactfully withdrawn by Museveni's camp to show Mbabazi that he was weak.

Henry Tumukunde is a politician and retired senior military officer of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF).
On 3 May 2020, he declared his ambition to become President of Uganda officially and vowed to stand against President Museveni in the 2021 elections.
Barely a week after his declaration, Gen. Tumukunde was then arrested and charged with treason and owning government weapons, modified AK 47 rifle and a Star pistol without valid firearm certificates.
Mr Tumukunde is believed to have angered Uganda's Commander in Chief, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni after his 'careless' TV utterances that appeared in tandem with hostile Rwanda.
High Court Judge Wilson Kwesiga later released him on a non-cash bail of sh50m on grounds that bail is a constitutional right.
Mr Tumukunde is also a qualified lawyer. He has served as the UPDF's chief of personnel and administration, chief of military intelligence as well as serving as the commanding officer of the UPDF Fourth Division, based in Gulu in the Northern Region of Uganda.

Kabuleta wrote to the chairperson of the EC, Justice Simon Byabakama on July 1, 2020, seeking permission to embark on holding nation-wide consultations for the presidency.
He aspires for a Ugandan government is an ally rather than our tormentor; a country where wealth is fully harnessed and equitably shared.
Kabuleta believes that an oppressive regime is only as strong as the fear it imposes on the population.
