Gen. Tumukunde's 'Kisoboka' group to give People Power and M7 a run for their money


Former Security Minister General Henry Tumukunde has today unveiled his pressure group called 'Renewed Uganda' to boost his campaigns for the presidency in the 2021 general elections.


The pressure group dubbed ‘Kisoboka’ using the orange color aims at giving Ugandans social and political hope.


“We want to give sufficient hope to Ugandans that all that has not happened yesterday will happen tomorrow,” Tumukunde said.


Gen.Tumukunde known for his cash rich trait hopes to lure hungry and broke People Power supporters into the 'Kisoboka' group to win elections. Similar to how Museveni bought off faded Ugandan musician Full Figure, Buchaman and Bobi Wine's diehard Ashburg Kato.


However at the launch, he also unwrapped his electoral roadmap, campaign team among others tasked to popularize his candidature and secure support of the voters ahead of next year's polls.

The function, held at his Kololo office was led by Hon. Beatrice Kiraso, Chairman bodaboda Association of Uganda, Charles Ndugwa, business community led by Frank Gashumba, lawyers, among others.


Tumukunde revealed that he will campaign under the pressure group to unseat his former boss and bush war comrade, President Museveni in the forthcoming 2021 general election.


Earlier this week, Tumukunde stated that he has in the previous weeks been soaked in activities purposed to build solid structures and systems that will aid his campaign thrive once he embarks on the race to persuade voters.


"I don’t know how quiet I have been but I believe in having networks and sorting out links to people from whom you expect votes. So I don’t know if that is being very quiet," he said.


It should be noted that On March 3, Gen. Tumukunde declared his intention to stand for presidency in 2021.


Barely a week after his declaration, Gen. Tumukunde was then arrested and charged with treason and owning government weapons, modified AK 47 rifle and a Star pistol without valid firearm certificates.


High Court Judge Wilson Kwesiga later released him on a non-cash bail of sh50m on grounds that bail is a constitutional right.


He dismissed state argument that investigations were incomplete, nothing that it is not a hindrance to the grant of bail to an accused person.
