Controversial current affairs analyst Andrew Mwenda on Friday picked wrong nomination forms that were not meant for NUP presidential flag bearers. People Power Spokes Person Joel Ssenyonyi confirmed.

The veteran journalist instead picked nomination forms for Members of Parliament, youth leaders, and councillors.

On Tuesday, Ssenyonyi stated that by the time Mwenda joined the party last week, the nomination forms for presidential flag bearers were not yet out. He was impatient to wait for the form that is why he was served nomination forms for MPs.

Mwenda never bothered to check whether he was given the right forms or not.

"The Delegates Conference which took place last year elected Kyagulanyi as leader of NUP but not the flag bearer. Our offices will be open on Friday 14th for those who want to run for party presidential flag bearer to pick nomination forms. And on 21 we shall be closing." Mwenda told Journalists at NUP headquarters in Kamwokya.

“Andrew Mwenda can come and pick forms if he wants but those that he took are not for party presidential flag bearer, instead they are for MPs, youth leaders, and councilors. “ He added.

Last week, Andrew Mwenda officially registered and joined Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform.

He also went ahead to show his interest in NUP presidential flag bearer to challenge Bobi Wine thereby picking nomination forms ahead of the 2021 general elections.
